According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake registered at 4.6 on the Richter scale at about 7:24 a.m. The epicenter of the quake was located about 50 miles southeast of San Antonio between Pleasanton and Karnes City.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
Viewers reported feeling the earthquake from as far north as the Medical Center area to as far south as Pleasanton.
Sharon Carlin, a viewer who lives in the Medical Center area, emailed the KSAT 12 newsroom to report the quake. "My entire building shook. I was on the bed watching the news and the entire bed was shaking. It lasted about 25 seconds," Carlin wrote. "Both my animals were freaked out, each one thought the other was in the room and making the bed shake."
Pat Brandt, who lives at the entrance to Choke Canyon State Park near Three Rivers, emailed that she was eating breakfast when his house shook.
"The light fixture was swinging from side to side," Brandt wrote. " (I) was going to blame (my) husband for moving the table until I saw the light swinging. It really made your stomach feel funny."

We are hearing more and more about floods, earthquakes, and tsunamis happening around the world. Presently, there is the aftermath of an earthquake in Turkey. We are still mopping up after Hurricane Irene, which occurred two months ago along the East Coast...What more evidence do we need? Are we going to wait until 20 December 2012 before we do something? The following story actually happened, TO ME! And needless to say, it was NOT very funny at the time!
Shortly after my dad’s death, Jeanne and I traveled to Seguin, Texas to buy cat food for the several cats, which my dad inherited and which lived in his mobile home in McQueeney (60 miles NE of San Antnio on the way to Houston).
I had been “giving her grief” or teasing her all day. She warned me that unless I stopped, I would be sorry.
As we were about to enter a grocery store in Seguin (6 miles further NE of San Antonio on the way to Houston), a man was exiting the store and had two large bags of groceries in his arms, FORTUNATELY FOR ME!
It was my custom to give Jeanne all of my small change, and as I did so, much to my surprise and dismay, she “crouched down” and assuming a “cowering manner,” she looked up at me and held out her two hands, "cupped together.”
She said in a “pitiful” manner, “Is this all I get for all the things I’ve done?”
I thought that man was going to put down his two bags of groceries and “HIT ME!” (He didn't.)
Since then, I have been careful, NOT to tease Jeane anymore, when she says that she has had enough!
