Rho-Rho (Continued)

His left leg was thrust outward from his body and was  parallel to the floor. He could not mate, because he could not climb onto Kari-Mel's back. (The female's Ovi-Duct is located on the upper right side of her back.) We loved him from the very beginning, and he was the 2nd of 4 birds whom we drove 130 miles round trip from far N.W. San Antonio to Canyon Lake and back to rescue from the cats. You can read more about this when you read Mandy Jeann's story, which follows.

We carefully guarded him, because he could not easily escape from the other birds, until we bought Kari-Mel on 12/07/1999. She became his mate and his protector and would not let any other bird hurt him, and because of her size, Kari-Mel was a bird to be seriously reckoned with!

I recall putting him in his favorite food cup for the night on the night of 4/09/2004. I found his body still in his favorite food cup when I uncovered our birds on the morning of 4/10/2002. 

Kari-Mel grieved for more than 2 weeks after he died. We grieved also. Of all of our birds, it was the date of Rho-Rho's death that I remembered for many years to come!

Little Fella, We miss you so much. You were always a joy to us. Your personality and plumage were beyond compare. Surely, you must have been and still are one of the strongest of bird spirits in Our Heavenly Father’s Kingdom, and were foreordained to come to us to help us teach others patience and tolerance for those who are different. You taught that being different is not bad, only different. 

We rescued you from being cat food, and you rewarded us with more than four years of love and enjoyment, until your sudden and unexpected death on 10 April 2002. You had a very strong sense of independence, in spite of your challenges. Kari Mel misses you as much as we do. She has continued to lay eggs in your memory.  It is not too difficult to believe that she was your mate in the Pre-Existence and will again be your mate in the Spirit World.   

Please give our love to all of our babies and be strong in the Spirit World as you were here. We love you, Little One. God Bless You, Roe-Roe.
