"Eulogies to our Departed Birds"
Supplement #2.

An INTRODUCTION to the Eulogies to our Birds

Let it be known that just because I have not written an individual eulogy to each and every one of our departed babies, it is not meant to be construed that we loved them any less. Some of our babies died many years ago, and it is difficult to write eulogies for each one. Some of our eulogies have been lost, like "Our Eulogy to Our Mandy Jeanne."

Therefore, I have prepared a list of our babies whose Spirits have left us to go to the Spirit World.

I have written each individual eulogy to each individual bird to which our eulogy belongs... If my eulogies appear to be sensitive and dripping with emotions, it is because that Jeanne and I love each and every one of our birds just as though they were human.

The Prophet, Joseph Smith, Jr., once said that the animals also have souls and will report to the Lord Jesus Christ how each of them were treated. I want each of our departed babies to know that we love you very much and have often cried at your death, as we will now cry at your burial.

6.) TEAL: You were a handful, not in size, but in demeanor. A mother bird will either be very “laid-back,” like our “Buddy,” or “mean” like you were. You were a pretty bird, with your black and teal blue plumage against your while feathers. It was your “teal” plumage which caused Jeanne to give you your very unusual name. You gave us 4 beautiful babies: “Wings,” “Big Bird,” “Third Bird” and “Midge.” You almost killed “Midge” on two separate occasions. Jeanne rescued and treated “Midge” and made him our special bird, which he still is, even today. Midge takes after his father, Candi, whom we also miss terribly! You apparently developed cancer and died from it. We hold no grudge or hard feelings against you and love you in spite of everything. May God Bless You, Teal, until we meet again.

7.) ALPHA 1, ALPHA 2, and OMEGA: All of you may have been hatched too soon and died shortly after you hatched. You were Blondie's and Cori Le May's babies. I gave you each a name whereby you will be known in our family, our family records and in the records kept in Heaven. It is our belief that even as you have souls, Heavenly Father know each of you and is keeping you in His care until we pass through the Veil and ask Him to let us have stewardship once again over you. Good-bye until then, little ones. We love you.

8. & 9.) BETA and GAMMA: Both of you were Sally's and Cori-Le May's babies. You died quickly after hatching, and would have been siblings to our Imara if you had lived. Your mother, Sally, was a

new mother and did not know how to feed or to take care of you. Neither did Jeanne nor I. I gave each of you a name, even as I did with Blondie's 3 hatchlings. We eagerly look forward to seeing both of you on the other side of the Veil. Good-bye until then, little ones.

10.) SWEETIE: I never saw you up close until Jeanne found your body on the ground beneath the Martin house. We miss you because we wanted baby Purple Martins in our yard. Your death was so very tragic and disappointing to us and to your parents. With the exception of one year, we have always had baby Purple Martin hatch and fledge in our Martin house. May God Bless and Keep your Spirit in His constant care until we meet again!

11.) HARRY ALLRED FAULK: I was devastated when I returned home from gasing up my truck, and Jeanne brought you in a plastic bag to me to hold and to say “Good-bye” to... Jeanne named you “The Screaming Budgerigar,” because as soon as she or I picked you up, you started screaming. That is what made you unique. Your Cobalt plumage was so very pretty. Jeanne named you after her Paternal Uncle “Harry Rennecker,” whom Jeanne adored. We bought you a mate, whom Jeanne named “Martha,” after her Aunt Martha, Harry's wife and her mother's older sister, who is still alive at 93. You were a very sweet natured bird, and we will miss you terribly! Please give our love to all of our babies on the other side of the Veil.

12. DALLIN H. OAKS: ILittle brother, Jeanne bought you and named you after one of her favorite Apostles, Dallin H. Oaks. Your gray feathers were beautiful, and you were the handsomest of birds. You were very quiet and unassuming. There was never any doubt that you were Jeanne's bird. But I loved you, too! We both love and miss you. Please do not forget us, as we will never forget you. We eagerly look forward to meeting you again when we cross the Veil. Until, then, Little One, please give our LOVE TO ALL OF OUR OTHER BABIES, WHOM WE MISS SO VERY MUCH!

Eulogies to Our Babies, Page 3.

13.) Midge:
Midge, the very best “Eulogy” which I can give you is to retell your story, which I have recorded in my second book, LED BY THE SPIRIT.  You are the perfect example of what I meant when I wrote “Know Who You Are and Becoming Who You Can Become.”

Coming from such a strong and loving ancestry, as “Miss Buddy,” “Miss Marie,” “Dana Brent” and “Candi,” it is little wonder that “Midge” is as pretty and loving as he is. He looks very much like his grandfather, “Dana Brent,” who has a pretty purple plumage, which is the very reason that we bought “Dana Brent.” “Midge” came from a very pretty and loving lineage: his great-grandmother, Buddy; his grandmother, Marie; his grandfather, Dana Brent, and his father, Candi. Even though Midge had his trials, shortly after he hatched, because he was and is a strong spirit, and was unconditionally loved and cared for, he has become the very best bird that he could be. Isn't this how Heavenly Father cares for us and wants US to BECOME?

It was remarkable to watch Midge “preen” Jeanne's face with his tiny beak. He is the youngest of the four birds, and soon after he left the nest box at five weeks of age, instead of the traditional six weeks, he began this very unusual “service” to his older brother and two older sisters. Jeanne and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this tiny bird preen his siblings. He still preens Jeanne's face and sometimes, other members of our flock, who by their reaction, apparently do not know what to make of him. We have brought home many more birds, since Midge hatched on 10 March of 2003, and he will preen the new birds as well. However, we now believe that Midge's preening activity is more of a mating behavior than a casual friendship ritual.

I know that you were suppose to come to us, because we knew how to care for and love you and help you to grow and to become what you were supposed to become. Isn't this the way we are supposed to treat our brothers and sisters and ESPECIALLY, New Members: to love, to nurture, and to guide them to become WHO they WANT and NEED to become to PROGRESS toward EXALTATION? We are all a child of God, and our Heavenly Father wants us to progress and to enter once again into His Presence. Our Heavenly Father helps us to learn and to grow and to progress, through the acts of kindness and caring which we receive from others.

We miss you already and love you just as much now as we did when you were living. Good-bye for now, little one. You will be forever on our mind and in our hearts, until at last, we meet you in the Spirit World, with our other babies.

Jeanne and Randy Faulk, 27 January 2009

14.) McKay:  Little fella, Jeanne and I bought you from Carroll Myers, because you looked a lot like our little Sherrie Dew.  You both had green and yellow feathers, but your feathers were a darker green and yellow.  We hoped that you would befriend her, but without any warning, you died on 21 April 2009, just two days after we bought you and brought you home.   We called Carrol to advise and he offered us a replacement, but no bird could replace you in our hearts.  McKay, you were named for David O. McKay, a Prophet of the Lord, and you should be very proud of your name.  We love you and miss you.  Please give our love to all of our babies on the other side of the Veil.  We eagerly look forward to meeting you and all of our babies on the Other Side and having you be our baby birds for all Eternity.  Good-bye for now.  Know that you are neither gone nor forgotten.

15.) Joseph Smith: I was shocked when Jeanne brought your lifeless body to me yesterday, 17 June 09 and told me that you died in her hands.  You were named for the Prophet of this, the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times, Joseph Smith, Jr., and like McKay, you should be proud of your name.  You were already at least seven years of age when we bought you from Carroll Myers on 21 April 2009, because your leg band indicated that your were hatched sometime in 2002.  Your head was a bright yellow and you had a gorgeous green chest and wings.  You and James E. Faust looked alike, although you were larger than Faust.  I will call Carrol Myers to advise him that you have passed on, although again, we do not want him to replace you, because, like McKay, no bird can replace either of you in our hearts.  We love you and miss you.  Please give our love to all of our babies on the other side of the Veil.  We eagerly look forward to meeting you and all of our babies on the Other Side and having you be our baby birds for all Eternity.  Good-bye for now.  Know that you are neither gone nor forgotten.

16.) Snowee:  Little one, I did not even know that you were gone, until I opened the refrigerator and saw your body wrapped in Saran Wrap.  Jeanne said that she found you dead on the bottom of a cage.  You were the flock leader and Chad misses you terribly as do we.  Please do not be sad that you are on the other side of the Veil, because you are with all of our other babies, whom we love and miss. Give our love to everyone.

17.) Gray Ray:  Although Jeanne did not have any intention of buying any more birds, we went to the Alamo Exhibition Bird Show on Saturday, 26 September and came home with 7 birds, including you.  Jeanne loves Gray birds, and she chose you and named you after her very special Oral Surgeon, Dr. Ray Kaercher.  She thought that you were Sweetums, since you were both in the same hospital cage.  As she fed you, you abruptly stuck your upper bill inside of your lower beak and quickly died, why we do not know.  We are both deeply saddened at your death and trust that you are happy on the other side of the Veil.  Please give our love to all of our babies on the other side.

We love you and miss you, Gray Ray.  Goodbye for now, little one, until we meet you once again.

18.) Spicer:  You are gone, little one, but you have gone to a better world.  You lost your sight, but now you can see once again in the Spirit World, to be with your sister, Sugar, and the rest of our babies.  You were once Jeanne's bird, just as Sugar was mine, but after Sugar died, you became as much my bird as you were Jeanne's.  We both miss you terribly!  Jeanne saved you from death several weeks ago, when you developed a virus, which according to the Avian Medicine Book, you were not supposed to survive!  Your strong spirit was not yet ready to forsake your weak body, so you tarried with us a few more weeks.  But your time came to leave us, and leave us you did, but you knew beyond any doubt that you were loved and wanted!  Good-bye for now, little one.  Give our love to our other babies.  We love you and miss you.

19.) Sally:  Jeanne told me just a few days ago that she didn't think that you would live very much longer, and she was right.  You were always “Jeanne's Bird,” and I think that you knew it.  You and Cori LeMay gave us a beautiful little green and yellow female American Budgie which we named “Imara”.  I remember what Jeanne told me when she brought you home.  She said that she was at the Bird Show and looking for a green and yellow female English Budgie, which she wished to buy from Carroll Myers.  As she approached the cage in which you and many other birds were caged, Jeanne said that you kept moving up and down the front of the cage so that Jeanne would notice you.  It was as thought you were saying, “Look at me! Look at me!  Don't look at those other birds!  Buy me! Buy me!” I will be a good Mormon bird and have babies!

And that is exactly what Jeanne did!  She bought you!  Jeanne cared for you and for tiny, blind, naked, Imara after Imara hatched.  You were exhausted and could not feed your little baby bird, so Jeanne fed both of you every two hours for the first twenty-four hours, until you regained some of your strength.  And then you stuffed that bird, until we were afraid that Imara's crop would burst!

Jeanne and I drove you to Dr. McGeHee's Vet Clinic when you were egg-bound and almost died. Bill performed surgery to remove 2 eggs and sutured your vent.  Again, Jeanne stayed up many nights to care for you.  Then you developed the cyst on your bottom, and we took you back to McGeHee to fix you up.  Jeanne and I spent more money in veterinarian bills and medications to save your life than we spent on any bird or any combination of birds.  But we loved you and knew that your life was precious to us and to Heavenly Father.  We are sad to see you go, little one, and Jeanne is as devastated as I knew that she would be.  We love you and miss you.  Please give our love to our babies on the Other Side and let them know that like you, we miss them and will not forget them.

Good-bye for now, sweetheart.

20.) Alexa:  Little one, it is with great sadness that I write your Eulogy.  Jeanne saw your badly mite infested right side of your face when we went to buy birds from Carroll Myers.  It looked as though your face was badly burned.  You had little or no feathers on the side of your face, and you could just barely see out of your right side because the cysts were so large.  They reminded me of “blinders” on a horse's leather rig, which were made so that the horse could only see what

Alexa: was in front of the horse.  Jeanne said that the tissue on your face was inflamed and very

painful.  We told Carrol of your situation and bought you immediately, along with Sweetums,  and Candace, who were also in very serious condition health wise.  Jeanne nursed you back to health, and slowly you recovered.  There was very little evidence of the mite induced cyst on your face, and that was just below your right eye.  Your feathers had grown back in, and your

yellow head was beautiful.  What a tragedy it was to lose you after the two months that Jeanne cared for you and especially when we both picked you up and loved you.  You must certainly know that you were both loved and wanted!  Please give our love to our babies on the Other Side of the Veil.

Good-bye for now, Alexa.  We love and miss you!

21.) Cori LeMay: You died in Jeanne's hand, before I came home from running Security at Zion's
Lutheran Church.  I did not even know that you died until Jeanne told me several hours later.
Jeanne and I bought you from Melanie LeMay.  You were such a sweet and gentle bird who never bothered anyone.  You were Sally's mate and Imara's father.  We love you and will miss you terribly!  Please give our love to our babies on the other side of the Veil.  Good-bye for now, Cori-LeMay.

22.) Dana Brent:  You died so unexpectedly, even though Jeanne and I both knew that you were getting old.  You had been going blind for a long time, but Pooh Bear took care of you after the death of Jared.  You lived a full and useful life, and even outlived Miss Carli, Mr. Candi and Periwinkle II.  We know that you are happy on the other side of the Veil, now that you are with your mate, Miss Marie and your children and grandchildren, Mr. Darcy and Mr. Carswell.  We love you and miss you. Please give our love to all of our babies on the other side.  Farewell, Dana Brent.  I took pictures of you, so that we will remember you forever, not that we would not otherwise!  Now everyone who visits my B.I.R.D.S. web site will see your picture and marvel at how very beautiful you are and were.

Jeanne and Randy Faulk

26 December 2009.

23.) Gen-Two:  Jeanne found you on the bottom of yours and Shy Guy's cage.  Neither Jeanne nor I had any idea that you were sick. We bought you from Petco on Bandera Road, because you reminded us so very much of our late Jennifer or Jen-Jen, after whom you were named.  Your light green feathers were so beautiful, and you became a good friend and cage mate to our Shy Guy, whom you preened often.

We will miss you, and I asked Jeanne to hold you in her hand so that I could take some last pictures of you.  Good-by for now, Gen-Two.  Please give our love to our other babies.  As each of you pass away, it makes it harder to remain in mortality, since we long to be with each of you and to raise you and love you on the other side of the Veil, which we pray that we will be able to do one day...

24.) Third Bird: You were Midge’s older brother and his protector, like Hyrum Smith who was an older to the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr. and his protector. Your feathers were absolutely gorgeous and so was your beautiful Navy-Blue tail. You had a sway back, but it didn’t seem to bother you. You were the third in line to hatch, hence your name, "Third Bird".

Your developing Asthma, severely compromised your health, and contributed greatly to your early death. We love you and miss you. Please give our love to your Great Grandparents, Miss Buddy and Jinxie I; your Grandparents, Marie and Dana Brent; your parents, Miss Teal and Mister. Especially give our love to our Midge Bird. Until we meet on the other side of the Veil,

Good-Bye for now, Third Bird.

Jeanne and Randy Faulk

12 February 2010.

25.) Candace: Jeanne named you after Candace, one of Jeanne's friends at the H.E.B. Pharmacy, where Jeanne buys hers and my prescriptions. When Jeanne bought you from Mr. Carroll Myers on Saturday, 26 September 2009, that you may not live very long, but you lived much longer with Jeanne and me than you would have lived otherwise. Carroll did not know that you had a large cyst on your bottom, until Jeanne told him, and then Carroll advised Jeanne to “lance” the cyst with a pin in order to drain the fluid in the cyst. Jeanne knew how very tender that cyst was, and she did not want to cause you any more pain! We brought you home, and Jeanne put a healing and soothing salve on the cyst until it shrank down to the size of a pea. But then, you developed a cancerous growth under your wing, and that cancerous growth, in addition to the cyst, may have caused your early death, even though Jeanne treated the cancerous growth with a homeopathic remedy prescribed by our Vet.

Jeanne placed a platform over two perches and placed a crocheted pad on top of the platform, so that you could rest your swollen body as often as you could. This was a sure sign of her love for you! I did not know that you had died until I noticed Jeanne’s large “Journal” on the Living Room floor, and then I went about looking for the absence of one of our several birds who have distinct physical “challenges!” I have had the opportunity to say “Good-bye” to you before we bury you in our personal Pet Cemetery, where most of our other babies are buried. You are now free from pain, but you will never be free from our love for you nor from our fond memories of you...

We love you, Candace, and will sorely miss you, baby girl. Please give our love to all of our other babies on the other side of the Veil. We eagerly look forward to meeting you and all of our other babies again. Good-Bye for now, Miss Candace.

26.) Pooh-Babs: Little one, we were never quite certain if you were a male or a female. We

called you Babs, Pooh-Bear, Pooh-Babs and maybe some other names, until we finally settled on Pooh-Babs. You were the last of your clan, after Perri-Ann and Shellie died. All three of you were the offspring of Abner and Miss Drops, who taught all three of you to hang upside down from the top of the cage. Jeanne used to delight in holding each of the three of you by your feet and letting you swing upside down from her fingers! You resembled Shellie in every respect, except that she was hatched on 2 Feb 2002 and you were hatched in a different clutch on 29 June 2002. We miss you just as we miss Shellie and Perri-Ann and all of our other babies. Please give our love to all of our other babies on the other side of the Veil. We eagerly look forward to meeting you and all of our other babies again. Good-Bye for now, Pooh-Babs.

27.) Sweetums: Little one, of all of our birds, I think that Jeanne and I will miss you the most, because you just recently died, and we knew that your time on this earth would be brief, due to your many challenges…But if Jeanne had not bought you on 9/26/2009, you would have died before the end of that day. You were starved, dehydrated, and your head was all bloody from being picked on by the other birds. Jeanne are I are the "Champions of the Oppressed". You lived with us just one day short of ten full months, and you brought us 10 full months of pure joy. We love you, and we miss you, Sweetums!  Please give our love to all of our other babies on the other side of the Veil. We eagerly look forward to meeting you and all of our other babies again. Good-Bye for now, Little one!

Jeanne and Randy Faulk

28.) Big-Bird: I will never quite understand why Jeanne named you “Big-Bird,” or “B-Bird” for short. You were never all that big. Your mate, Miss “Little Bits” adored you, even though you took advantage of her. We still have two of your children, “Ann Marie,” and “Jeanne Marie,” who fed and cared for you during your last days with us. It was so pitiful to hear Jeanne Marie call out for you this evening, when he normally fed you. He misses you, just as we do! But you are no longer in pain and discomfort due to the tumors, and you are now with Little Bits. We love you, and we miss you, B-Bird.  Please give our love to all of our other babies on the other side of the Veil. We eagerly look forward to meeting you and all of our other babies again. Good-Bye for now, Little one!

29.) Shy Girl: Little Sister, you were the first Love Bird that we ever had. Brother Cosme Becerra and his daughter found you beside the road, and they rescued you from being eaten by cats. You used to bite viciously, probably because you were mistreated! We loved you and cared for you, and you eventually came to trust us. We bought you a playmate so that you would not be

lonesome. We are saddened by your untimely death, but we have no idea how old you were. We trust that you will be happy where you are now. Please join our other babies on the other side of the Veil and wait for us to one day see you and our other babies again. Until then, know that we love you and miss you, our Shy Girl!

Jeanne and Randy Faulk

30.) Seth: Little Brother, your sudden and untimely death absolutely caught us by surprise. Jeanne was playing with you in the kitchen last Thursday, and you dropped dead in her hands! Jeanne bought you because you were so very handsome with your light blue and white plumage, and your gentle nature. She named you after our Bishop, Bishop Seth Andrews. We love you and miss you. We trust that you will be happy where you are now. Please join our other babies on the other side of the Veil and wait for us to one day see you and our other babies again. Until then, know that we love you and miss you, our Seth Bird!

Jeanne and Randy Faulk

21 August 2010

31.) James E. Faust: Little one, we knew when Carroll Myers gave you to Jeanne, that you may not live very long, but we wanted you and took as good care of you as we could. Jeanne named you after a very special General Authority in our lives, President James E. Faust, the 2nd Counselor to President Gordon B. Hinckley in the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints.

Your foot was damaged, but you never knew that there was anything wrong with you. You and Larkin II were the best of friends, and both we and he miss you terribly! You always were a very sweet natured bird, who never bothered anyone, and it is for this reason that we know that you will do very well on the other side of the Veil. Please give our love to all of our other babies and let them know that we miss you and all of them very much. We eagerly look forward to meeting you and them someday. God Bless You, Faust, and all of our other babies.

Jeanne and Randy Faulk

30 August 2010

32.) Baby: Jeanne named you, “Baby,” because you were a “Baby” Mockingbird who fell out of your nest. Mickey, next door, brought it to our attention that you had fallen out of your nest. I advised her to put you back into the tree by the corner of our house, so that your mother could feed you. You fell out of the tree again, and Jeanne and I put you back. Every time that we came outside, we would look for you. Jeanne finally did find you dead on the ground. Jeanne named you, and we will bury you with our other babies. God Bless You, Baby. You are one of our babies too!

Jeanne and Randy Faulk

33.) Honey Bunny: Little one, Jeanne bought you because you were so cute. You were a much older bird, having be hatched in 2004, when Jeanne bought you from Carroll Myers on 26 Sept 09. You always hung your head down as though your head was too heavy for your body. You were one of Jeanne’s favorites, along with Sheri Dew. We are sorry to see you go, but we know that you will be happy on the other side of the Veil. Please give our love to all of our babies. God Bless You, Honey Bunny.

Jeanne and Randy Faulk

34.) Mandi-Lynne: Little one, Jeanne bought you on 2 March 2001,for my 54th birthday. You were so cute, with your blue plumage and your tiny body. For more than 6 years, you were the smallest of our flock, until we bought “Audacity,” our “Fan Bird,” who was a little smaller than you. You would bite, because you did not like to be held. Jeanne noticed that you were on the bottom of your cage yesterday, and that “Audacity” and/or “Jeanne Marie” was feeding you. Jeanne treated you with some holistic medicine which she bought at Sun Harvest, and the holistic medicine seemed to help. But you were the 2nd oldest of the members of our flock, 2nd only to Jordey LeMay. You were 9 years and 7 months old, and you lived a very long life for a parakeet. We love you, and we miss you. Please give our love to our babies on the other side of the”Veil.”

So long, Little One.

Jeanne and Randy Faulk

35.) Scotti-Elyse, AKA Blondie: Baby, we miss you so much. You were always one of our favorites, due to your Cinnamon colored wings and your sky blue chest. We bought you from Melinie LeMay Pantel, and your parents were Abner and Miss Drops. You were the last of your line whom Miss Drops taught to swing upside down from the inside top of your cage. Jeanne saved your life on at least two separated occasions, but your fragile condition could not withstand another assault on your already weakened body. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, until we meet again.

Jeanne and Randy Faulk

17 October 2010

36.) Lehi: Little brother, Jeanne named you after “Father Lehi,” the Book of Mormon prophet and the father of Laman, Lemuel, Sam and Nephi. Your plumage was a beautiful light blue and spangled. You pretty much kept to yourself and didn’t bother anyone, unless Jeanne or I picked you up. You looked a lot like “Lehia,” whom Jeanne bought from Carroll Myers the year before. Jeanne said that you had a weak heart, and I guess that she was right. You bit like a girl, even though you were a boy. We love you and miss you. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, until we meet again.

37.) Audacity: Little fella, you will always be our “Fan Bird”. You were the smallest parakeet that we ever had. You were even smaller than Mandi-Lynne. We are grateful to you and to Jeanne

Eulogies to Our Babies, Page 11

Marie who fed Mandi-Lynne until the day that he died, which was 1 October 2010. You will always hold a special place in our hearts because of your escapes, especially when you climbed inside of our horizontal floor fan and was only about 2 inches from the underside of a moving fan blade. We still do not know how you managed to squeeze your tiny body through the underside of that fan! We love you and miss you. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, until we meet again.

38.) Chad: You were named after a special friend of Jeanne’s, Dr. Chad Lunt, an Obstetrician whom Jeanne met at Wilford Hall Medical Center. You were a very handsome Gray English Budgerigar.  Although you never had a mate, you were a very sweet and gently bird, and we miss you terribly. We love you and miss you. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, until we meet again.

39.) Larkin II: You were named after a very special Home Teacher whom we had many years ago and who was faithful and diligent in visiting us at least once every month. He named another bird Larkin I, and you followed in his footsteps. Your yellow head and iridescent green body was beautiful, just like your older sister’s plumage. Yes, Miss Sally was your older sister, and we miss her too. You never bothered anyone, and Jeanne enjoyed holding you in her hand. You died quietly in her hand yesterday, 14 January 2011. We love you and miss you. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, until we meet again.

40.) Sydney: I did not even know that you had passed on, until more than a week later, when Jeanne put Tommie into the hospital cage with Sariah. I commented that Tommie would not like being separated from you. That is when Jeanne said that you had died a week or more. When I asked Jeanne why she withheld your death from me, Jeanne said that we had lost Larkin II and several other birds already, and that she didn’t want to drop the news of your death on me this early. You were Tommie’s mate and he will miss you. We miss you and love you. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, until we meet again.

41.) Miss Ira: Little one, you left us so suddenly. Jeanne lifted the cover of yours and Toodles’ cage and saw you on the bottom of the cage. She took you out of the cage, and you were already almost dead. Before she could make up the Carbo Vegetabilis 30C, you died in her hand. We miss you at least as much as we miss “Miss Shygirl.” Toodles misses you too! You were named Ira, after Ira Wagner. It wasn’t until later that we discovered that you were a female. Your orange crest, blonde cheeks and throat and your green plumage and green, blue and orange tail were beautiful, but even more beautiful was your sweet demeanor and disposition. We love you and miss you. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, until we meet again.

42. Miss Sariah: Little one, Jeanne named you after Sariah, the wife of the Prophet Lehi and the mother of Laman, Lemuel. Sam. Nephi, Jacob and Joseph in the Book of Mormon. She bought you from Mr. Carrol Myers, because you were so beautiful with your Bluish-Lavender Spangled plumage. You developed arthritis in both of your feet and your toes, so that you became so “flat-footed” that Jeanne put you into her hospital cage and kept your feet warm with a heating pad.
Eulogies to Our Babies, Page 12.

After Miss Sydney died, Jeanne put Tommie into the hospital cage with you to keep you company. The two of you got along very well, so well in fact, that you created an egg. You became egg bound and developed a prolapsed uterus, which caused your untimely death. Jeanne thought that your egg was fertile and placed it under Imara to hatch. Imara, however, apparently thought otherwise and after a few days, she refused to sit on your egg any longer. When Jeanne candled your egg, she discovered that it was infertile. We love you and miss you. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, Sariah, until we meet again.

43. Spencer W. Kimball: You were a very loved bird. Jeanne bought you and cared for you, when you suffered from a broken or a badly bruised leg. She watched over you constantly and tried her best to keep other birds, especially Toodles, from harming you. You died on Monday afternoon while I was asleep on the couch, and Jeanne did not tell me that you died, until a few hours later. As Jeanne has said so many times, when new birds come into our home, some bird dies shortly afterward, and I guess that it was your time to go. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, Spencer, until we meet again.

44. Sheri Dew: Little One, your sudden and unexpected death has devastated us. Jeanne was grooming your feathers and trimming your wing feathers when you died suddenly in her hands Wednesday afternoon, 5/25/2011. Jeanne bought you at the Bird Show on 9/27/2008, just because Jeanne saw that you were physically challenged and that she was afraid that you would be killed if she did not buy you and bring you home. Despite your physical challenges, your blind left eye, your twisted body and your right foot which protruded from your body, you were as independent as you could possibly be. Jeanne and I watched you very carefully to make sure that none of the other birds would harm you, but very soon, you were able to look out for yourself. You had a beak that could do some serious damage to anyone or anything which stood in your way. We love you and miss you, but we know that you are now in the Spirit World where your spirit body is perfect once again. The 2 years and almost 8 months which you spent with us were happy ones, indeed! Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, Sheri Dew, until we meet again.

45. Mel: Little One, Jeanne thought that you were a female, when we bought you, so she named you “Melody,” after my little sister. But it did not take very long for us to realize that you were a male, hence the name, “Mel.” I knew very little about you, since you never seemed to cause any trouble and to appear to stay by yourself. Your sudden death was a complete surprise to me. Good bye for now, Little One. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, Mel, until we meet again.

46. Bradley: Bradley, Jeanne bought you because of your beautiful Dark Bluish-Violet plumage, but you sweet disposition was a definite plus. You and Dietert became best buds when we bought him and introduced him to you. We discovered about 18 months ago that you developed a cancerous growth under your left wing. We took you to Dr. McGeHee, who treated you with a special non-prescription preparation, which he sold to Jeanne in order to treat your wing, but it

Kept growing until it took your life. Dietert and Jeanne and I miss you very much. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, Bradley, until we meet again.

47. Lehia: Little One, Jeanne thought that you were a male, so she named you after Father Lehi, in the Book of Mormon. But it became readily apparent that you were a “female with a BEAK”. Your cere turned beige in color, and your vent bones were very wide. You laid an egg or two, and all of these facts confirmed that you were a female. Your pale blue plumage was absolutely gorgeous! We thought that you were in good health, and you had laid eggs before, albeit infertile, but we were not prepared for your becoming egg bound during the night. Jeanne was able to remove your egg with warm water, but you were too exhausted and in much too much pain to survive your ordeal. You died in Jeanne’s hands. We love you and miss you, Little One. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, Lehia, until we meet again.

48. Charlie Bear: We bought you, Little One, because of your beautiful turquoise and yellow plumage. Jeanne named you Charles, after Charles Smith, one of our Home Teachers and the son of Chuck Smith. Chuck told us that he and his wife nick-named Charles “Charlie Bear” because of Charles’ habit of lying on his back as a baby and holding his bottle with both hands and both feet. So “Charles” quickly became “Charlie Bear”. You lost your tail feathers and had a bare butt the remainder of your life. You quickly became one of our favorites, especially when you became ill. Jeanne put you in her special “hospital box,” and nursed you around the clock. But you may have had cancer or tumors, which hindered your recovery and hastened your death“ The Plan of Salvation” tells us that we will see you again and will be able to raise you along with our other birds. We love you and miss you very much. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, Charlie Bear, until we meet again.

49. Azure: Jeanne bought you along with Jen-Jen and Mandi-Keet, due to your beautiful Azure Blue plumage and your Gray mantel across your back and wings. You befriended Shy Girl, and the two of you shared the same cage until we bought Toodles. You pretty much kept to yourself after we took Shy Girl out of your cage. We tried our best not to isolate you, and opened the covers so that you could see the other birds. Toodles and Ira visited you daily, and after Miss Ira’s death, Miss Mini-Ira and Toodles visited you daily. I was very surprised and upset when Jeanne told me that you had died and that Jeanne had found you dead on the bottom of your cage. The Plan of Salvation” tells us that we will see you again and will be able to raise you along with our other birds. We love you and miss you very much. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, Azure, until we meet again.

49. Jordy (Jordan) LeMay: You were Miss Carlie’s and Basil’s son and the brother of Carswell and Darcy. You lived almost as long as our Miss Buddy. You most closely resembled your father, Basil, but you were only about 1/6th his size. You were cute, but you hated to be picked up. You were our last reminder of Miss Carlie, Basil, Darcy and Carswell. We love you and miss you. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, Jordy, until we meet again.

50. Jeffry R. Holland: You were also named after one of our favorite Apostles, and you were one of our 4 gray boys: Dietert, Chuck, Justin, and Jeffry R. Holland. Jeanne said that she found you on the bottom of your cage, so you must have died sometime during the night. Jeanne said that Dietert was your best friend, since she cared for you daily. We love you and miss you. Please give our love to our other babies on the other side of the Veil. May God Bless You and Keep You, Jeffry R. Holland, until we meet again.
