According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake registered at 4.6 on the Richter scale at about 7:24 a.m. The epicenter of the quake was located about 50 miles southeast of San Antonio between Pleasanton and Karnes City.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
Viewers reported feeling the earthquake from as far north as the Medical Center area to as far south as Pleasanton.
Sharon Carlin, a viewer who lives in the Medical Center area, emailed the KSAT 12 newsroom to report the quake. "My entire building shook. I was on the bed watching the news and the entire bed was shaking. It lasted about 25 seconds," Carlin wrote. "Both my animals were freaked out, each one thought the other was in the room and making the bed shake."
Pat Brandt, who lives at the entrance to Choke Canyon State Park near Three Rivers, emailed that she was eating breakfast when his house shook.
"The light fixture was swinging from side to side," Brandt wrote. " (I) was going to blame (my) husband for moving the table until I saw the light swinging. It really made your stomach feel funny."

We are hearing more and more about floods, earthquakes, and tsunamis happening around the world. Presently, there is the aftermath of an earthquake in Turkey. We are still mopping up after Hurricane Irene, which occurred two months ago along the East Coast...What more evidence do we need? Are we going to wait until 20 December 2012 before we do something? During the 'rush hour' at Houston's Hobby Airport, a flight was delayed due to a mechanical problem.
Since they needed the gate for another flight, the aircraft was backed away from the gate while the maintenance crew worked on it. The passengers were then told the new gate number, which was some distance away. Everyone moved to the new gate, only to find a third gate had been designated for them.
After some further shuffling, everyone got on board, and as they were settling in, the flight attendant made the standard announcement, 'We apologize for the inconvenience of this last-minute gate change. This flight is going to Washington, D.C. If your destination is not Washington, D.C., then you should 'deplane' at this time.'
A very confused-looking and red-faced pilot emerged from the cockpit, carrying his bags. 'Sorry,' he said, wrong plane.'
Saturday, 4 February 2012: I opened my E-mail this morning to discover that I had a half-dozen "Happy Birthday" wishes from my Facebook Friends. I wrote back to advise everyone that while I appreciated their kind words, my birthday wasn't until next month, 4 March 2012. I was then advised that I had erroneously stated that my birthday was today.
Being the comedian that I am, I wrote back and said, "Maybe that is because I considered being born on 4 February 1947, but I was such a procrastinator that I didn't get around to it until the following March! How's THAT for KICKS?"
